Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Vanpool

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is unique among the nation’s transportation agencies. It serves as transportation planner and coordinator, designer, builder and operator for one of the country’s largest, most populous counties. More than 9.6 million people – nearly one-third of California’s residents – live, work, and play within its 1,433-square-mile service area.

PROJECT

Vanpool Marketing and Outreach - Metro manages vanpool program where it provides vans ending their commute in Los Angeles County with a monthly subsidy of up to $400. The vanpool subsidy program was initiated by Metro in May 2007. Currently the program has over 600 vans enrolled.

CLIENT NEED

Metro needed to develop a sustainable program to market the program to developers, cities, building owners, and employers.

SOLUTION

is contracted to develop a five year marketing program specifically targeted to audience’s Metro wants to enroll in the program. The project includes assessing the existing program, looking for operational efficiencies, assess existing marketing materials, recommend and create new marketing materials and creating a sales matrix to define how the Vanpool program can be cross sold within Metro’s Commute Service Department.
